One-Day Seminar

Myopathies and hypermobility – How do I train the modern horse?

The training and rehabilitation of hypermobile horses and horses challenged by modern breeding poses new problems even for experienced veterinarians, therapists, trainers and riders. Gabriele Rachen-Schöneich and Klaus Schöneich from the ARR Centre for Anatomically Correct Horsemanship know this from their daily work. During the seminar they will inform about the training and management of affected horses.

They explain key factors such as the stabilisation and mobilisation of horses suffering from the muscle myopathy PSSM 2 (PSSM1), for example, as well as the support with therapeutic training of horses affected with congenital physical weaknesses such as ECVM and hypermobility. You will learn why the development of load-bearing capacity and functional muscle strength are of upmost importance.

In addition, practical veterinarian Tina Wassing teaches the medical fundamentals as well as valuable basic knowledge about management and feeding of horses suffering from PSSM.

Affected seminar participants have the opportunity to bring their symptomatic horses for a movement analysis and receive a personal consultation.

If you are interested, do not hesitate to send an e-mail to the seminar organiser.

It is possible to additionally book the Sunday clinic to observe lunging and riding lessons of horses who have already undergone training and therapy according to ARR.
